Last Friday, I had the incredible opportunity to speak on a panel about corporate social responsibility, sharing insights on how purpose-driven entrepreneurship can transform innovation.
@kidunified continues to break barriers and inspire meaningful impact within our communities. In our homes, classrooms, libraries, community places as well as mental health and wellness spaces.
As a solo-entrepreneur, wearing all the hats (including social media content creator..ahem..), it was motivating to answer questions from the audience and online participants about why I do what I do, and what keeps me going.
Q: What would you change about your journey if you could go back in time?
A: Truthfully, not much. But, I can tell you the number one thing I would absolutely not change: For me, I am parent who wanted a great learning resource for my kiddo, that shows what belonging looks like — one in which, all kiddos can see themselves represented — I wanted to create Kidunified with a Community Advisory Committee that brings their own unique, lived experiences to the final product. This is the number one thing I would not change about my journey so far. I value the feedback and insights of this amazing group of folks so much.
Q: Describe a moment when you felt it was all worth it.
A: When I was notified that my local Canadian Mental Health Organization Waterloo Wellington (CMHA) installed Kidunified puzzles on the wall in the children and youth services waiting room.
Q: What do you need now to grow and scale?
A: When folks have Kidunified’s Mission: Inclusion Puzzle, they love it. Getting in touch with the folks who value inclusion isn’t easy. It isn’t a straight line to connect with parents, therapists, schools, libraries and more. I am working to learn more about PPC advertising in order to ensure Kidunified is in front of more folks. So, a PPC Fairy/mentor could work wonders!
Instagram is a network. A community. Let’s keep building bridges together. Continue to think of Kidunified as you go about your day. Someone in your life, will truly value a puzzle in which they can finally see (and know) like they belong when they build it.
